4th of July at Lake Powell

The 4th of July weekend found us once again at our favorite boating destination, Lake Powell. We were accompanied by our good friends the Averetts and their two kids. This year we put in at Bullfrog and traveled down lake to Antelope Point Marina and back, stopping at a new campsite every night. The trip consisted of about 5 days, 230 miles on the water, several fill ups at the gas docks(ouch!), and a lot of fun. The weather was cooler than normal and we only ran the AC on the last night. Cool temps in July make for a great time at the lake.

A picture of the crew. I'm not sure about my wife snuggling with the guests but it seem to put a smile on her face, and that's always a good thing.

Jason and Zhalore enjoying PF Changs lettuce wraps for lunch at Rainbow Bridge. Everyone walking past our boat was drooling from the smell. Thanks Jason for a great lunch menu.

It has been said that "what happens at Powell stays at Powell", but I, or I mean the captain, looked so good with his new doo I had to share it.

The kids, yes that includes Jason, spent a lot of time chasing and catching lizards.

Cliff jumping from a neat little arch near the mouth of the Escalante River.

The boys having a little down time after some hard lizard wrangling.

I'm not sure who took the picture but as you can see, the views from the urinal are fantastic.

This was our last lunch spot. It is in a large alcove in Lost Eden canyon. Can it get any better than that?
